Tasks & duties

Automotive parts salespeople may do some or all of the following:

  • advise customers on what parts and accessories are needed for vehicles
  • select parts from the storeroom
  • locate and order parts from suppliers
  • sell parts to customers
  • display parts on shelves and keep shop area tidy
  • keep records of all parts being sold and stored
  • pack parts and arrange delivery to customers
  • deliver and pick up parts for customers and other workshops or departments
  • order new parts to maintain stock levels
  • organise advertising and sales promotions
  • carry out other tasks such as banking.
