Tasks & duties
Bus drivers may do some or all of the following:
- drive buses along a set route
- collect fares from passengers and give them tickets and change
- keep a record of tickets issued
- give passengers information on routes, fares and timetables
- keep a logbook
- inspect the bus for minor faults
- clean the bus at the end of a run.

Specialisations
Bus drivers may specialise in urban, school or long-distance bus driving, which all run to a set route and timetable.
Charter bus drivers take passengers on one-off trips, such as to corporate functions, or to events such as sports games or concerts.
