Tasks & duties
Recruitment consultants may do some or all of the following:
- find and build relationships with clients by phoning and visiting them
- work with clients to identify job vacancies
- advertise job vacancies in newspapers and on the Internet
- interview and profile candidates
- screen and test candidates
- phone candidates' referees (such as past employers)
- reformat a candidate's curriculum vitae (CV)
- brief candidates about available jobs
- shortlist candidates for job vacancies and present them to clients
- arrange job interviews and prepare candidates for these interviews
- negotiate salaries and contracts for candidates
- write reports and update databases
- keep in touch with candidates
- advise on market trends and salaries.
