Entry Requirements
To become an oncologist you need to complete a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).

Pay
Pay varies for oncologists and registrars (those in training), depending on seniority and frequency of on-call or emergency work.

Job Outlook
Even though the job of oncologist is a relatively small one in New Zealand (there were only 48 in 2006, with 15 in vocational training) there are not enough people to fill the available positions.
