Entry Requirements
To become a foreign policy officer you need to have one of the following:
a conjoint degree that includes either a Bachelor of Law, or an economics degree
an Honours degree
a postgraduate degree.

Pay
Salaries for graduates begin at around $44,000, and after that remuneration is linked to the Ministry's performance management system.

Job Outlook
About 300 foreign policy officers are employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
