Entry Requirements
To become a botanist, you usually need a Master's degree in botany or in a related area such as biology.

Pay
Botanists at the technician level (with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) could start at $35,000 a year, moving up to about $46,000 depending on their experience and performance.

Job Outlook
Competition for botanist jobs is tough as there are few of these jobs in New Zealand.
