Sheet-Fed Printer - Personal requirements

Skills & knowledge

Sheet-fed printers need to have:

mechanical and technical skills to operate, maintain and repair manual and computerised machinery used for printing
knowledge of printing methods, inks, colours and substrates (materials printed on)
knowledge of types of paper and paper sizes
skill in analysing detail and colours
good communication skills
organisational skills
basic maths skills.

Personal Qualities

Sheet-fed printers need to be:

alert

accurate with an eye for detail

reliable

adaptable and efficient

able to work well under pressure.

Physical Requirements

Sheet-fed printers need to have good hand-eye co-ordination, good eyesight (with or without corrective lenses) and normal colour vision. Some lifting may be required.
