Entry Requirements
To become a grain miller you need to have Sixth Form Certificate or NCEA equivalent in maths, English and science. As there are no grain miller courses in New Zealand, most people complete the London City and Guilds courses through distance learning.
Training on the job
Skills are gained on the job and some companies may pay for their millers to complete London City and Guilds courses.
Useful Experience
Useful experience for millers includes bakery, electrical and laboratory work, or work in the engineering side of an industry.
