Process or chemical engineers work in:

They may travel overseas to work, attend conferences or market their services.

Equipment

Equipment process or chemical engineers may use includes:
  • processing equipment
  • laboratory equipment 
  • calculators 
  • measuring and testing equipment 
  • protective clothing
  • computers.

 

Hours

Process or chemical engineers usually work regular hours, although they may be required to work evenings and weekends. Some may also do shift work.

"The hours of work depend on the projects you are working on and if you have deadlines coming up. Usually we work from 8.30am to 5pm. If you're working on a contract basis you tend to work much harder, and for a shorter period."
