Motorcycle engineers work in garages and workshops. They may travel to recover motorcycles that have broken down, to test motorcycles, or to pick up and return motorcycles to their owners.

  • vehicle manuals and online databases.

 

Hours

Motorcycle engineers usually work regular hours. Some may be required to work weekends.

 

Contact with people

Motorcycle engineers work independently and in a team. Some have a lot of contact with the public, while others work in businesses that have customer service representatives, so do not have as much contact with customers. They also have contact with other garages and people in the automotive industry such as panelbeaters, specialist repairers, parts suppliers and motorcycle manufacturers.
