Working Conditions
Retail salespeople work in shops such as retail chain stores, boutiques, department stores, shops within shopping malls and warehouses. Retail salespeople usually work indoors, but some may also work in outdoor environments such as garden centres.
Retail salespeople are often on the move
Equipment
Retail salespeople ususally use cash registers and deal with credit card and EFTPOS machines. They may also use tape measures, calculators and computers.
Hours
Retail salespeople can work full-time or part-time hours. They may also work evenings and weekends, and be on call.
Contact with people
Retail salespeople have contact with a variety of people including customers, suppliers and couriers. They may also work under supervisors or supervise others.
