Pay for newspaper and magazine editors varies depending on the size of the publication they work for, its circulation, and location.
  • Editors working for small community newspapers or specialist magazines could expect to earn between $40,000 and $80,000 a year.
  • Editors of daily regional newspapers, news websites, and national magazines may earn between $80,000 and $120,000.
  • Editors of high-circulation, daily metropolitan newspapers and popular magazines could earn between $120,000 and $200,000.
