Pay varies, but graduate mining engineers usually earn between $60,000 and $70,000 a year, while experienced mining engineers may earn up to $120,000.
According to the 2006 Census, mining engineers earned an average of $81,900 a year and worked an average of 54 hours per week. This includes full and part-time workers.
