Pay for joiners varies depending on experience.
  • Apprentice joiners may start on the minimum training wage (about $20,000 a year). Pay increases as they acquire unit standards and/or skills.
  • Fully qualified joiners usually earn between $16 and $25 an hour ($33,000 to $52,000 a year).
  • Self-employed joiners may earn considerably more than this.
According to the 2006 Census, joiners earned an average of $37,500 a year.
