Industry sources indicate that the average gross salary for maintenance and diagnostic engineers in 2008 was about $55,000, with the highest-paid 25% earning about $58,250, while the lowest-paid 25% earned an average of $48,850 a year.

According to the 2006 Census, maintenance and diagnostics engineers earned an average of $46,400 a year and worked an average of 43 hours per week. This includes full and part-time workers.
