Pay varies but bakers usually earn between $30,000 and $45,000 a year. Apprentice and trainee bakers earn less than this.

Industry sources indicate that the average gross salary for bakers in 2008 was about $49,000, with the highest-paid 25% earning about $67,000, while the lowest-paid 25% earned an average $36,000 a year. 


According to the 2006 Census, bakers earned an average of $25,800 a year and worked an average of 41 hours per week. This includes full and part-time workers.
