Industry sources indicate that the average gross salary for fork-lift operators in 2008 was about $39,000, with the highest-paid 25% earning about $41,000, while the lowest-paid 25% earned an average of $33,000 a year.
Fork-lift operators may have opportunities to work overtime, and some shifts may be paid at a higher rate.
According to the 2006 Census, fork-lift operators earned an average of $31,800 a year and worked an average of 44 hours per week. This includes full and part-time workers.
