The Cadastral Surveyors Licensing Board sets standards and gives licences to land title surveyors. 

LINZ is the government agency responsible for providing land and seabed information. It authorises and keeps a register of changes to land, such as recording changes of ownership or mortgages, and provides copies of these records. LINZ also provides up-to-date information on the ownership of freehold land. 

NZIS oversees the professional and ethical conduct of surveyors. They offer information on surveying careers and professional registration, and run continuing professional development courses and seminars.
