A lot of skills in visual arts and design roles are learned on the job

Training for visual arts and design jobs ranges from developing your own skills, to completing formal training such as attending art classes, apprenticeships, diploma or degree qualifications.

Apprenticeships are required for certain jobs such as sign-maker and screen printer. These can be applied for through the relevant Industry Training Organisation (ITO).

Many people do ongoing training to keep aware of current trends in the industry.
