Students who have successfully completed the three-year National Diploma in Hospitality Management may be admitted into the Degree in Hospitality Management and can graduate with that qualification on successful completion of the following:

HM 6305 Hospitality and Tourism Strategic Management
HM 6306 Marketing Management
HM 6307 Human Resource Management for the Hospitality Industry II
Approved 20 Credit Course/s at 200 or 300

What can I expect out of this qualification?

Graduates of the Hospitality Management degree programme will have an up-to-date knowledge and command of the fundamental principles and theoretical foundations of the main branches of hospitality management.
The ability to learn independently and grow with experience will be a natural extension of the study method used within the programme. The discipline of self reliance and the ability to work in a team will be developed to a level where the transition to a work environment will be a natural progression.
On successful completion of this programme, graduates will have
*acquired general knowledge and skills in selected areas of general hospitality management, food and beverage, accommodation management, and other areas to the pursuit of careers in hospitality management
*developed the interpersonal capabilities needed for a career which requires cooperation and participation in group decision making activities
*demonstrated an understanding of the complex and dynamic technological, social, economic, cultural and political environments in which hospitality management activities are undertaken
*a demonstrated ability to adapt in an area which is rapidly changing and to operate knowledgeably, productively and professionally in a hospitality management environment
*a demonstrated ability to think critically, and to evaluate and apply existing knowledge to actual problems and requirements of hospitality management
*acquired an adequate basis from which to undertake postgraduate study.
