Database help for qualification providers

This website uses information from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) to update our information about courses and qualification providers.

Which organisation is responsible for the various parts of this site?

Information about qualification providers is from NZQA's Register of Quality Assured Qualifications. The register, and therefore this website, hold all quality-assured qualifications available in New Zealand that are 40 credits or above, and quality-assured micro-credentials.

The careers.govt.nz website provides the search engine that indexes the courses. NZQA provides the information on qualifications, campus and contact information. Careers.govt.nz maintains the links between occupations and qualifications.

The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) provides the aggregated data that makes up the Key Information for Students (KIS) information on this website for qualifications at Level 5 and above. This is sourced from information entered into STEO (Services for Tertiary Education Organisations) by tertiary providers.

My organisation no longer provides one of the qualifications listed on your site. How can I get this removed?

You will have to complete a letter to NZQA to withdraw accreditation for this qualification. You can email NZQA for a template letter. The letter has to be signed by a senior manager within your organisation.

Why can't I find a qualification that I know is 40 credits or above?

If the approval has just been received and the qualification is not present on our site, we may not yet have applied the update from NZQA.

Otherwise, contact both NZQA and Careers New Zealand if you think there may be an issue with one of our databases.

How do I change the content of the information within a qualification page?

Source data for information published in the Key Information for Students can be updated by a funded tertiary provider in STEO. If you need help updating information please contact the TEC at customerservice@tec.govt.nz or 0800 601 301, or speak to your TEC Investment Manager.
