About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This national certificate is the first part of a progressive career path leading to other qualifications for the industry, and is intended for young people joining the industry from secondary school, or people with limited work experience in manufacturing and/or the aluminium joinery industry.

The qualification is intended for people employed in the aluminium joinery industry.

The skills recognised by this qualification include generic workplace skills such as communication, safety, and maths, common to most manufacturing and engineering sites, and a selection of aluminium joinery skills directly related to the industry. This combination means that people credited with this qualification are competent in a number of fundamental skills needed for the manufacture of aluminium joinery products, and for participation in the industry generally.

This qualification leads on to the National Certificate in Architectural Aluminium Joinery (Assembly and Glazing) (Level 3) with optional strand in Cutting and Machining [Ref: 0766].
