What can I expect out of this qualification?

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the General Aviation and Agriculture sectors of the NZ Aviation Industry with individuals who have attained sufficient operational and theoretical knowledge and practical skills to achieve employment as commercial pilots or associated support staff in flight planning and aircraft operations.

Graduates will qualify to operate as commercial pilots under the appropriate NZ Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rules for General Aviation and Agricultural Aviation and Aerial Application.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirements

To be eligible for entry into this programme, applicants must; be at least 18 years old before the date of CPL flight test or ATPL exams, successfully complete the ADAPT Trainee Pilot Pre-Screening Test, hold NCEA Level 3 or PPL Theory subjects or equivalent, hold an aviation class 1 medical certificate, meet 'fit and proper persons' requirements of CAANZ, be competent in spoken english to meet CAANZ requirements, successfully complete a formal interview. In addition, international students must be 18 years or over and have an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher
