What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of this qualification is to provide professional development for registered health professionals to enable maintenance of currency OR for individuals with a Health Science qualification to meet the skill and/or qualification requirements of the professional and technical roles of a specialist technician. The qualification will provide a graduate level qualification aimed at preparing the technical workforce with a recognised qualification for the benefit of individuals requiring health intervention. Graduates will be qualified to practice as Clinical Physiologists
Key Information for Students
Entry is open to degree graduates. However, subject to the regulations of the award, those who have been able to demonstrate equivalent practical, professional or educational experience of an appropriate kind may be granted admission. Entry Requirements for Dialysis Specialisation Applicants must meet the following entry requirements: Hold a Bachelors degree or equivalent OR Have a relevant professional qualification or experience approved by the Dean or their representative, to demonstrate ability to study at level 7 AND Have completed a minimum of 30 credits study at level 5 in Bioscience, and Anatomy and Physiology AND Have English competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.5 (with no score below 6.5) or equivalent AND Provide a completed medical declaration and/or evidence of a current health certificate from a registered health practitioner, indicating ability to practice safely and to be physically capable of meeting the practical aspects of the programme. Each applicant will be required to declare all criminal convictions and pending convictions, and submit a New Zealand Police Consent to Disclosure of Information form with their application. This will be sent to the Police Licensing and Vetting Service if the applicant is accepted into the programme and is returned in confidence to the Dean of Faculty.
