About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
This qualification provides the automotive collision repair industry with individuals who have attained the knowledge and skills required to work as either automotive collision repair non-structural repairer or a structural repair technician.
Non-structural repairer graduates will be able to repair and replace non-critical structural elements. Structural repair technician graduates of this qualification will be able to repair and replace critical and non-critical structural elements and may have some responsibility for the workplace as well as for the performance and safety of others.
This qualification is designed for people working in the industry and will typically be achieved in a workplace environment whilst completing a New Zealand Apprenticeship.

Minimum requirements
"Learners must be eligible to undertake industry training organised through MITO and must have signed a MITO Training Agreement. Entry is subject to the approval of MITO. This will be determined on the basis of discussions between MITO, the employer and the learner. Apprentices must be employed in a collision repair workshop environment, in a role which enables them to meet the graduate outcomes of the qualification. Learners must have completed the below qualification or hold equivalent knowledge and skills: New Zealand Certificate in Collision Repair and Automotive Refinishing (Level 3) [Ref: 3008]"
