Entry requirements:

To be able to successfully engage in the learning for this qualification, a candidate must be able to confidently and safely ski or ride snowboard on all groomed terrain and on most off-piste terrain, including having some basic freestyle competencies.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

This qualification will provide the snowsport industry with individuals who have applied skills and competencies to operate independently as instructors of intermediate ski or snowboard skills for all age groups in the New Zealand snowschool instructional environment.

Graduates of this qualification are able to employ reflective instructional practice to improve their own practice and learner outcomes.

This qualification includes embedded internationally recognised technical snowsport instruction (intermediate) industry awards.

Graduates of the optional strand also have the skills and knowledge to operate a snowsport instruction business.

Graduates will contribute to the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of Aotearoa New Zealand.
