What can I expect out of this qualification?
This micro-credential is designed to recognise the foundation skills and knowledge required for further training in the motor industry, and to provide students with the opportunity to gain exposure to career opportunities in the automotive industry.
The micro-credential offers secondary school students learning opportunities in the automotive industry with credits towards NCEA and an introduction to the workplace. Supported by MITO and in partnership with secondary schools and local businesses, StartUp(r) has both theory eLearning and practical learning in an automotive workshop.
This micro-credential follows on from the StartUp(r) Ignition - Automotive Micro-credential and can lead on to the Collision Repair and Refinishing Qualification Pathway and the Automotive Qualification Pathway which include a range of Level 3-4 qualifications such as the New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 3) [Ref: 3097] and the New Zealand Certificate in Collision Repair and Automotive Refinishing (Level 3) [Ref: 3008].
