What can I expect out of this qualification?
This purpose of this qualification is to provide the flooring sector with graduates who are able to prepare flooring surfaces for floor covering installations or applied coatings.
The strands in this qualification recognise the skills and knowledge required to plan and carry out specialist surface preparation such as concrete polishing, mechanical preparation, moisture treatment, and underlayment systems. The qualification also includes an optional strand in topical coatings.
Graduates will be able to work unsupervised and perform to the required safety, technical, quality and productivity standards expected in the flooring preparation industry.
