Entry requirements

To be eligible for admission to this micro-credential, all applicants must:
- Be 16 years of age on the date of the commencement of this micro-credential, or provide a completed Early Release Exemption form.
- Have a minimum of three years of secondary education or equivalent.

English Language Requirements: A minimum of eight credits at NCEA Level 1 in English.

What can I expect out of this qualification?

The aim of the micro-credential is to promote the basic skills needed to hit the ground running in the painting and decorating industry. This learning package will enable learners to enroll in apprenticeships. There is a large practical component in conjunction with the basic theory on painting, substrates, materials, environmental impact, and health and safety. The aim is for the learners to gain confidence in applying for a position in the painting and decorating industry.
