Entry requirements
Applicants must be:
At least 17 years of age;
Working in a health and wellbeing setting or other roles requiring advocacy;
Able to study at Level 4 - either having previously completed a qualification at level 3 or above, or the provision of a testimony from a current or past employer, or tertiary organisation.
Applicants must also have access to a device and the internet.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the micro-credential is to:
- Introduce the learner to the role of advocacy when working in a health and wellbeing setting.
- Introduce the learner to the application of the principles of advocacy to support vulnerable clients and their family/whanau.
- Identify and report care and decisions that impact negatively upon the vulnerable client.
- Provide knowledge and skills related to self-advocacy.
