Entry requirements

To gain admission to Tūranga Ararau requires applicants to be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
To gain entry to the programme learners preferably will have a level 3 qualification or equivalent experience and a demonstrated commitment to work and progress in the industry.

About the course

What can I expect out of this qualification?

To provide graduates Māori and employers of a predominantly Māori workforce with the skills and knowledge to be sustainably employed as harvest crew managers. They will be able to plan, communicate and supervise daily operations on a commercial forestry site to minimise damage to the environment and supervise landing operations while increasing productivity.

Being responsive to our key Iwi stakeholders, this programme will increase the number of skilled and qualified people, in particular Māori working for Iwi and the wider industry growing our commercial forestry estates to increase productivity while caring for the wellbeing of our fragile environment.
