Entry requirements
To gain admission to Tūranga Ararau requires applications to be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
To gain entry to the micro-credential learners preferably will have a level 3 qualification or equivalent experience and a demonstrate commitment to work and progress in the industry.
About the course
What can I expect out of this qualification?
To provide Maori graduates and employers of a predominantly Maori workforce with the skills and knowledge to be sustainably employed in a health and safety roles in silviculture or harvesting operation. They will be able to take responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of forestry employees, plant and equipment and safe behaviour audits.
Being responsive to our key Iwi stakeholders, this programme will increase the number of skilled and qualified people, in particular Māori working for Iwi and the wider industry to increase the quality and productivity of our local commercial forestry estates.
