42 NCEA credits at L3 with 14 creds in biology, human bio, or PE and 14 creds in core health/health ed, physics, stats, maths, chem, geog or psych and 14 creds from other subject or successful level 3 relevant tertiary study or relevant experience

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The purpose of the degree is to provide a professional, integrated, generic, entry level qualification in Physical Activity, Health and Wellness or Sport. This specialisation has a scientific backbone, with breadth and scope provided in a more holistic pedagogical and applied focus by incorporating selected courses from other allied health degrees. Entry level programme in this discipline requires students to be conversant with the theory and practice skills required for work in the appropriate professions, along with critical self reflective practice that integrates theory and practice. The programme will facilitate entry into related professions and offer opportunities to specialise within a chosen work context via ongoing professional development and/or further study Graduates of this degree will seek employment primarily in the following health related fields/areas: Physical activity development, lifestyle consultant, physical activity prescription specialist, health promotion, public health and exercise research, district health boards, health centres, ACC, non-government organisations, government agencies, local council programmes, private consultant. Post graduate study and research opportunities in health promotion, physical activity, health and wellness or teaching will also be available.
