Minimum requirements

Applicants shld demonstrate an ability to succeed in the NZ Dip Engineering (Mech) shown by the completion of the following quals or crses of study: NCEA Lv2 (incl a minimum of 10 literacy credits at Lv1 or higher - for those who achieved NCEA Lv2 before 2013) AND a minimum of 48 credits at lv2 in four subjects incl at least 12 credits in Maths (prefer achievemnt standards in algebra, calculus or trig) OR Equiv Quals OR Equiv credits from appropriate trades training and/or demonstrated skills and experience. Applicants who do not meet the academic entry above may be admitted to the prog if they are able to demonstrate: equiv knowledge & skills AND/OR previous & relevant life skills or work exp AND/OR other formal or non formal study such as to suggest likelihood of successful prog completion. Applicants who seek entry to the prog under Life Skills/Work Exp may be required to attend an interview and/or supply references or other supporting documentation. Applicants whose first language is not English are required to provide evidence of having passed such tests of English language competence. An IELTS (academic) score of not less that 6.0 (with no sub-test score lower than 5.5)
