Purpose of award
The purpose of the scholarship is to support and strengthen the cohort of students in the Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science (Hons) or Master of Science in Physics, Geophysics, Photonics or Medical Physics and Imaging Technologies at the University of Auckland.
To take up and be paid the Scholarships the candidate must be enrolled and have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for enrolment in a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Master of Science in Physics or Geophysics, or a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Photonics or Medical Physics and Imaging Technologies in the Faculty of Science at the University of Auckland.
The Scholarships are tenable by students who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
How do students apply?
The Scholarships will be awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Head of the Department of Physics (or nominee), two members of Academic Staff from the Physics Department, nominated by the Head of the Department of Physics and the Chair of the Scholarships Sub-Committee (or nominee).
History or background of award
The Scholarships were established in 2016 and are financed by the University of Auckland Physics Department.
The Scholarship will be paid in two instalments: one in the first, and one in the second semester.
