The scholarship is awarded for a maximum of three years subject to the student passing all papers in each year of study.  Academic progress will be monitored each semester.

Purpose of award

As an engineer you address the key issues we face today, like access to clean water, sustainable energy systems, waste management, recycling and environmental pressures. In our engineering degree you learn to formulate models and analyse, predict and monitor engineering systems – essential skills in professional engineering.  The School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences offers entry level scholarships to study for a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at AUT.

Selection criteria

Applicants must be intending to enrol in any one of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?

The award of this scholarship is conditional on the student gaining entry to an eligible bachelor's degree programme for Semester One of the year following application.

How and when do students learn of the decision?

Applications will be notified of the outcome by the Scholarships Office when the panel have made their decisions.

History or background of award

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) provides undergraduate scholarships to recognise student academic achievement and contribution to school and community. As well as recognising academic achievement these scholarships also recognise potential leadership ability and contribution to the school, community or cultural pursuits or sport at a representative level.

An award of up to $14,000 to support full-time study (120 points per year) in a bachelor’s degree programme at AUT, paid as follows: First Year – an amount of $8,000 paid as either:      Option 1: A contribution towards accommodation in an approved Hall of Residence to be paid directly to the relevant Halls of Residence; or      Option 2: Payment into the student’s personal bank account in four equal instalments throughout the year (two instalments each semester). Second Year - A contribution towards fees of $4,000. Third Year - A contribution towards fees of $2,000.
