How and when do students learn of the decision?
The first instalment of each of the named Foundation Awards will be paid on the presentation of proof of full time enrolment in a degree course at the University of Auckland (for example, a receipted fees invoice or certification from the relevant department). Subsequent instalments will be paid at the beginning of each semester on receipt of evidence of satisfactory grades having been achieved in the previous semester. If circumstances arise such that you are unable to complete a semester, you MUST advise the Awards Coordinator before the end of the semester. Failure to do so may result in cessation of funding for the Award.
Other Foundation Awards shall be paid in one instalment on presentation of proof of full time enrolment in a degree or diploma at one of the Institutes named above: for example, a copy of a receipted fees invoice or certification from the relevant Department.
In making these awards, the selection committee shall give consideration to:
a) a certified copy of the applicant’s tertiary record;
a) a certified statement by an academic staff member who knows the applicant well;
b) the applicant’s need for financial assistance;
c) the applicant’s aspirations for the future;
d) any special circumstances e.g. family responsibilities, personal disability, considered relevant.
