What does the scholarship get me?

Tuition fees plus access to the Canterbury Hockey Association's development programme.

Purpose of award

To assist students of high sporting achievement to undertake tertiary study and hockey development at Lincoln University. New and Current students may apply. Available to New Zealand/Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident Students.

Selection criteria

• Available to New Zealand citizens or permanent resident.

• Applicants must have gained NCEA Level Three Certificate, including University Entrance, (or an equivalent entrance qualification) and be eligible to enter university by February of the year following their application. Applicants will also be considered from students who are currently enrolled in alternative study programmes.

• Must have played for a secondary school First XI Hockey team or be an age-group representative.

• The Convenor of the Lincoln University Undergraduate Scholarships Committee or nominee, and
• The Executive Director of the Canterbury Hockey Association or nominee.

History or background of award

The programme combines academic study with the extension and development of athletic and sporting abilities. Hockey skills are provided by Canterbury Hockey.
