The Unitec Study Grant is available to current full-time students who are facing unexpected or additional costs that directly affect their ability to continue or complete their studies.

Grants are not available for tuition fees, day-to-day travel, or living costs and are open to domestic students or NZ permanent residents only.
How do students apply?
Make an appointment with a Student Support Advisor (Please book an appointment at the Ask Me desk in Te Puna (Building 180) or the Unitec Library at Waitakere campus)
Complete the Financial Assistance Application form at your appointment
You will also be required to
Bring bank statements for the four weeks leading up to the application
Provide proof of course related costs
Provide written quotes for course materials. (Please contact studentsupport@unitec.ac.nz for a list of our preferred vendors first)
Regulations
How and when do students learn of the decision?
Grants may be approved twice a year. In certain circumstances applications outside of these dates may be considered.
Decision makers
Once we receive the Study Grant Application, you will need to complete a Unitec Hardship form.
History or background of award
The Unitec Study Grant is available to current full-time students who are facing unexpected or additional costs that directly affect their ability to continue or complete their studies. Students can apply for an amount up to $500.
Additional information
You will also be required to;
Provide bank statements for the 4 weeks leading up to the application
Supply a quote or detailed breakdown of the costs being applied for
