Purpose of award
The purpose of this award is to give study assistance to Student Nurses, Student Midwives, RN, RM, or EN/NA.
Selection criteria
Available to:
Category 1: Enrolled Nurses
Category 2: Registered Nurses/Midwives/Nurse Practitioners
Category 3: Student Nurses/Midwives
Category 4: Unregulated Members
Criteria:
Funded by NZNO - $1.00 per financial member as at 31 December
Selection by the Florence Nightingale Memorial Fund Committee
Evidence of Enrolment required
Current financial member of NZNO as at 31 December 2019.
Funding is for the 2020 year
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The following are not eligible for consideration for a grant from the Florence Nightingale Memorial Fund:
those who are not current financial members of NZNO on 1 January. (fund is levied from membership as of 31 December each year).
How do students apply?
Application forms for NERF should be emailed to grants@nzno.org.nz in any format, but they must be emailed by 4.00pm on the closing date.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
All applicants successful or unsuccessful will be notified of the results by the end of May.
Decision makers
The Nursing & Midwifery Advisory Committee will make a decision based entirely on the information on the application form. Failure to complete the form will jeopardise your chances of success.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) offers several sources of funding in the form of scholarships and grants.

Factors taken into account for all applicants include but are not limited to:
Contribution to the New Zealand Nurses Organisation e.g. involvement in Regional Councils, Te Poari O Te Runanga, Colleges & Sections, workplace delegate
Goals on completion of course/Conference will enhance contribution to your practice.
