Purpose of award
The NZNO Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses (ACDN) offers grantsto assist members living and working in New Zealand to further their knowledge and skills with a view to improving outcomes for people living with diabetes. The grant can be used for activities such as, but not limited to; participation in workshops, attending conferences, study days or seminars or ACDN accreditation fees.
Selection criteria
This scholarship is available to current financial NZNO members who have been members of the Diabetes Nurse Specialist Section for at least two years.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have not received funding by this scholarship in the previous three years.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
A written report (approximately 500 words) for the DNSS newsletter 'On target', will be required within 6 weeks of completion of the study/conference in order to share knowledge gained. The applicant may be asked to share this information at Diabetes Nurse Study days or Symposium.
If applicant receives a scholarship and fails to complete the course or does not attend the conference then the applicant must return the scholarship to DNSS Committee.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
The selection committee does consider financial need and applicants are required to give some basic information concerning income and expenditure.

Additional information
$6,000 per annum shared among successful applicants
Maximum allocation per person of $750 for postgraduate study or conference
Maximum of $100 for an accreditation application
