Purpose of award
The objective of the Scholarship Panel is to ensure the Scholarship assists in the meeting of costs for people with paraplegia and physical disabilities or those working in this field to undertake or further a course of tertiary study.
This study needs to meet at least one of the objectives of the Trust.
Selection criteria
Applications are open to individuals committed to tertiary study and in need of assistance for payment of study fees, educational equipment or books.
It is a requirement that applicants be New Zealand citizens permanently resident in New Zealand.
The objectives of the Trust are to make provision for:
1. The welfare and rehabilitation of paraplegic and disabled persons,
2. Research relating to the same.
3. Buildings, equipment and facilities relating to the same.
4. Re-establishment or integration of paraplegic and disabled persons into the life and work of the community.
5. The mental and physical needs of paraplegic and disabled persons.
6. The training of persons to carry out any of the foregoing.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The successful applicant must undertake to report to the Ian Campbell Scholarship Panel as requested.

Applicants will be advised of the Panel's decisions by letter before November 30th.

History or background of award
Dr Ian Campbell was a founder and President of the Association. He was instrumental in setting up the Trust Board and was Chairperson for several years. He gave a great deal of time and effort to both the Association and the Trust, and the community of disabled has been enriched by his wide knowledge of rehabilitation. This scholarship is in recognition of this.

The number of scholarships, and the amount awarded, is determined by the Panel each year.
