What does the scholarship get me?
$1,000. Paid in two $500 instalments

Purpose of award
For students who normally reside within Ashburton.
For a student who has been accepted into or already studying in an approved health related course of at least one years duration at a University or Polytechnic.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The applicant's home address must be within the area governed by the Ashburton District Council, and the applicant must be required to live away from home.
How do students apply?
Application forms available from the Altrusa Club of Ashburton.
Applications are called for later in the year and advertised in 'The Courier (local paper).
How and when do students learn of the decision?
Two Altrusa Bursary Committee members and one health expert.

Altrusa is an international non-profit organisation making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.
Applicants are required to attend an interview.
