Purpose of award
The purpose of the scholarship is to offer support to a student who is need of financial assistance to continue with his or her study.
All applicants for these scholarships must:
Be NZ citizens or permanent residents
Be full-time students enrolling for their second or third year in the Bachelor of Business and enrolling in an Accounting major.
Have successfully completed their previous year of study with a high level of academic achievement.
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The award of this scholarship is conditional on the recipient gaining entry to and enrolling full-time in the second or third year of the Bachelor of Business programme, majoring in Accounting.
The recipient may be required to participate in service activities organised by the Faculty of Business Economics and Law.
This scholarship may not be held in conjunction with any other fees scholarship. The recipient may hold additional non-tuition fee based scholarships with the approval of the Faculty of Business Economics and Law.
The Faculty of Business Economics and Law in conjunction with the AUT Foundation has the power to terminate or suspend a scholarship if it receives an unsatisfactory report on the progress of a recipient.
How do students apply?
Application for this scholarships is through the AUT online scholarship portal. Applications will open 15 September. Applicants must upload to the portal:
• a written statement outlining the applicant’s need for financial assistance to fund their second or third year of study in the Bachelor of Business.
• written evidence to demonstrate major financial difficulties in the applicant commencing his or her second or third year of study in the Bachelor of Business.
How and when do students learn of the decision?
Scholarships are paid directly to AUT in contribution to the recipient's tuition fees.
Recipients will be selected under the supervision of the AUT Foundation who shall convene a scholarship selection panel to consider applicants. The panel will comprise a representative from the Faculty of Business and Law, a Student Services representative, and an AUT Foundation Trustee.
The decision of the scholarship selection panel is final.
If the panel is of opinion that there is no applicant of sufficient merit, the scholarship will not be awarded.
History or background of award
AUT Business School, in conjunction with a generous donation from a family estate, is pleased to offer a scholarship to a student who is entering the second or third year of the Bachelor of Business and is majoring in Accounting.
