Purpose of award

The CRV AmBreed Scholarship has been established to support and encourage students with interests in animal husbandry, animal genetics, farm management and environmental sustainability, and makes available an opportunity for students to observe dairy production systems in Europe.

Selection criteria

Applicants must be full-time students of Massey University, and in their third year of the Bachelor of AgriScience or the Bachelor of Science degree. Priority will be given to New Zealand citizens but international students who demonstrate a desire to pursue animal science as a career will also be considered.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?

The Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards. The Selection Panel has the right to refrain from making an award in the event of there being no suitable applicants and their decision is final.

History or background of award

CRV AmBreed is a dairy improvement company making a significant contribution to the genetic makeup of the New Zealand national herd and to the genetic makeup of pasture-based herds internationally. CRV AmBreed is a fully-owned subsidiary of CRV – a multinational dairy improvement company cooperatively owned by Dutch and Belgian farmers.
