$250 (secondary) and $5000 (tertiary) each.

Purpose of award
In 2001, TMI introduced a number of educational scholarships that all Rangitaane O Manawatu beneficiaries are entitled to apply for. They relate to both Secondary and Tertiary Education.
Selection criteria
To be eligible to apply for one of these scholarships, the applicant must be registered with TMI and thus a descendant of Rangitaane O Manawatu.

History or background of award
Tanenuiarangi Manawatu Incorporated ("TMI") has been the mandated iwi authority for Rangitaane O Manawatu since 1989. Its members are the natural desendants of the hapu of Rangitaane O Manawatu.
These hapu include:
Ngati Hineaute - Palmerston North District
Te Rangitepaia - Manawatu/Horowhenua District
Te Rangiaranaki - Palmerston North/Horowhenua District
Ngati Mairehau - Manawatu/Horowhenua District
Te Rangitauira - Manawatu/Rangitikei District
Ngati Te Kapuarangi ki Manawatu – Manawatu

Secondary Scholarships
These scholarships are available to secondary school students studying in the Manawatu/Horowhenua and Rangitikei areas. There are four as follows:

There are seventeen scholarships available in three categories. These are summarised below.

Eligibility: You must whakapapa into the hapu for which you are applying for a scholarship.
