Purpose of award
To assist Canterbury NZNO members to further their education relating to their own area of practice
To assist attendance at relevant courses and seminars
To promote the development of locally held seminars
Selection criteria
* Must be a member of New Zealand Nurses Organisation and reside in the Canterbury region
* Priority consideration will be given to those who have been active and supportive of NZNO members in the Canterbury region and Nationally
* Grants MUST be for nursing education or union development purposes
* All Applicants receiving a grant must supply a written report
What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
Report to be sent to Thomas Tippet Trust Committee for grants over $400. Unfortunately Thomas Tippet Education Fund does not give monies to assist with fees for the Bachelor of Nursing Programme.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
Applicants are notified of the decision by within 6 weeks of the closing dates.

Thomas Tippet Trust Awards Committee of the NZNO Canterbury Regional Council.
History or background of award
Through the generosity of the late Mr Thomas Tippet, a number of awards are made available for the education of nurses and the promotion of health in the Canterbury area.
