Purpose of award
In recognition of the completion of the project Fletcher Construction donated a sum of $15,000 in June 2002 to support the awards.

Selection criteria
Applicants for the bursaries must be NZ citizens or permanent residents who are studying full time at the Wellington campus in the following programmes -
(i) One award will be made to a student who has successfully completed year two (will have completed by the end of the current year) of the Bachelor of Nursing
(ii) One award will be made to a student who has successfully completed year three (will have completed by the end of the current year) of the Bachelor of Design (Spatial Design) and are entering their Honours year in the following year.
The following criteria shall be taken in account when making the selection for the bursaries:
(i) Bachelor of Nursing
• academic merit with particular attention to achievement in papers related to Health promotion in the community and Maori Health
(ii) Bachelor of Design (Spatial Design)
• academic merit

Regulations
Decision makers
The Chairperson of the Scholarships Committee or nominee, the College of Creative Arts Representative on the Scholarships Committee, and one academic staff member from the College of Health.
The Selection Committee may relax or modify the application of these regulations in special circumstances.
History or background of award
Fletcher Construction was the principal contractor for the refurbishment of the former Dominion Museum building, the former Annex and the surrounding site works for the Massey University Wellington campus. In recognition of the completion of the project Fletcher Construction donated a sum of $15,000 in June 2002 to support the awards.
Additional information
Payment of each bursary will be made in one lump sum.
