What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The tertiary provider does not have to sign the application form if the student attaches a copy of his/her course fees or acceptance letter for the year they are applying for assistance.
How do students apply?
Application Forms are only sent out once eligibility has been established. Application forms must be signed and returned by the closing date each year.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
Applications aare viewed on an individual basis.
Two applications will be considered each year from a whanau trust. The whanau trustees will make the decision on who will be considered, not the administration staff.
History or background of award
Mangatu is a Maori Incorporation - a structure similar to a company but established to facilitate and promote the use and administration of Māori freehold land on behalf of the owners.
Overseas students are eligible. Those not eligible are: children of executors of estates, step children and in laws.
