Entry requirements
Applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
(a) Academic entry requirement
7.1.1. Successfully completed at least 42 NCEA (or equivalent) credits at Level 3 at Level 3 or higher, made up of:
14 credits in one approved subject
14 credits in another approved subject
14 credits from one or two additional domains or approved subjects
AND
7.1.2. 8 credits in NCEA English Level 2 (four in reading and four in writing from the NZQA Literacy Requirements for University Entrance list) (or equivalent)
AND
7.1.3. 14 credits in NCEA Mathematics (or Pāngarau) Level 1 (or equivalent)
OR
Successfully completed a minimum of 72 credits at NCEA (or equivalent) Level 2 including a minimum of 14 credits in each of four subjects and a minimum of 30 credits at Merit or Excellence. Applicants will need to have achieved degree entry standards for numeracy and literacy (see 7.1.2 and 7.1.3 above).
OR
7.1.4. Provide evidence of equivalence through practical, professional or educational experience e.g. three - five year's full time work experience [relevant to business]. Evidence of literacy and numeracy will be required. MIT literacy assessments are available.
AND
7.1.5. Have English language competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.0 or greater (with no score below 5.5 in speaking, reading, writing and listening) or equivalent.
Selection:
Applicants who meet the requirements for admission are accepted into the programme in the order their applications are received.
An interview process will be available on application to counsel the appropriate choice of programme, to determine whether any specific support is required and to ensure students are well informed about the programme's demands and requirements. Whanau/family will be invited to accompany applicants to these interviews.

What can I expect out of this qualification?
The aim of the degree is to produce high quality graduates who have a sound understanding of the dynamic and changing environment in which managers operate in New Zealand and internationally, that will enable them to apply that knowledge at both organisational and strategic levels in a range of industries and organisations. This knowledge and expertise will be underpinned by a breadth of business expertise which includes an historical perspective of business development within New Zealand and an understanding of multicultural influences on business operation.
Graduates will understand and have the skills to implement sustainable focused business practices. On reaching the workplace, graduates will be able to integrate into their workplace environment quickly, having already spent time through their course of study in a work context applying the knowledge and skills of the curriculum.
